Bio-Compost-Based Integrated Soil Fertility Management Improves Post-Harvest Soil Structural and Elemental Quality in a Two-Year Conservation Agriculture Practice

The impacts of integrated soil fertility management (ISFM) in conservation agriculture need short-term evaluation before continuation its long-term practice. A split-split plot experiment with tillage (minimum tillage, MT vs. conventional CT) as the main plot, residue (20% residue, R no a control, NR) sub-plot, and compost (Trichocompost, LC; bio-slurry, BS; recommended fertilization, RD) sub-sub treatment was conducted for two consecutive years. Composite soils were collected after harvesting sixth crop an annual mustard-rice-rice rotation to analyze nutrient distribution structural stability. LC increased rice equivalent yield by 2% over RD 4% BS, nitrogen (N) uptake 11% 10% BS. Likewise, had higher organic carbon (SOC), N, available sulphur (S) than BS RD. Conversion CT reduced 11%, N 26%, N-use efficiency 28%. Conversely, stability elemental quality greater CT, indicating potential sequester C, P, S aggregates. Residue second year corresponding 8%. While yield, our results suggest that ISFM Trichocompost retention under improves physical sustain productivity.
